Family, country, outback and farm life - Independent travel and adventure as a farm au pair with VisitOz.

Australian farms are small, self-sufficient communities that vary in size from small families to 20 or more people.

They need help in all sorts of ways in the home and on the farm.

If you have good childcare or cooking skills, have a full driving licence and are keen to get involved with all parts of life on an Australian farm, then you are in the right place. Our program is designed to be fun and to prepare you to be a useful member of your employer's team, giving a unique opportunity to experience and be part of rural and outback working life.

Your work could include domestic tasks, looking after animals and pets, cooking, shopping, school runs, childcare, helping with homework, teaching & tutoring. Even before you start helping with the day-to-day farming work, such as cattle, sheep, horses, crops, infrastructure and more.

Our farm au-pair program includes:

- Welcome at Brisbane Airport, plus arrival and set up for work service

- 3/4 days of Brisbane life to recover from jetlag and acclimatise

- 4 days farm induction and skills training course, with all food and accommodation

- Return to Brisbane for up to 3 nights

- Arrangement of travel to your host/employer farm

- Full support during your time in Australia.

We expect to be able offer you a choice of 2-3 job opportunities and to confirm the details of your employer during the farm induction course. Work is normally for 3-6 months, with holidays, and after the job you are able to travel and explore Australia. You can even come back to us for a 2nd or 3rd job.

Tourism Noosa is the official tourism marketing and destination management organisation for the Noosa Shire on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. It is a dynamic and progressive membership organisation, responsible for positioning Noosa as Australia’s premier sustainable tourism destination, and driving economic benefit and value for the region’s tourism stakeholders, visitors and the local community through exceptional service delivery.

This exciting role services a dual focus – overseeing the operation, management and performance of Noosa’s signature Hastings St Visitor Information Centre (VIC), and being the inspirational force behind Tourism Noosa’s exceptional member-engagement

Duties will include:

  • Attraction and retention of new members
  • Working collaboratively with internal peers to optimise membership value and develop innovative solutions for improved service delivery
  • Lead and facilitate programmed member visits with other TN team members
  • Coordinate member networking nights, functions, volunteer training and special events
  • Work closely with Marketing team on cooperative marketing opportunities to on-sell to members
  • Liaise internally on member development needs and news stories
  • Effective VIC operations and volunteer (70+) management
  • Ensuring consistent delivery of world-class, inclusive and accessible visitor services
  • Developing a calendar for business and community group activations in the VIC
  • Optimising VIC revenue generation through product sales and unique retail that showcases the region’s artisans
  • Assist in building economic capacity for the region that creates business to business loyalty and opportunities for members

The successful applicant will possess the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in tourism or accommodation management
  • Local tourism/travel industry background would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of Noosa, Sunshine Coast and Queensland tourism experiences, services, and accommodation products
  • Previous experience or involvement with a membership-based tourism organisation
  • Previous experience in working with and coordinating a large volunteer workforce
  • Proven ability to influence a range of stakeholders and industry partners/organisations
  • Demonstratable commercial sales experience
  • Energy, enthusiasm and an exemplary customer service focus
  • Highly developed interpersonal, written, verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Highly developed negotiation skills.
